Our family is truly honored to be part of the Zoe’s Doodles Guardian Program. At first, we had no idea what a guardian home even was, and we were a bit hesitant—especially when it came to the contract. But Rhonda was incredibly welcoming and invited us to come visit, meet her, and spend time with the puppies, with no pressure. We’re so glad we did!

In 2022 our family had started thinking about getting another dog and so the search began. We knew we wanted a golden doodle, and we had explored a guardian program before but we lived too far away. We came across Zoe’s doodles and began a conversation with Rhonda.

We’ve been a guardian home since December 2023, and to be honest, we had no idea what that even meant until Rhonda introduced us to it. It turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.

Our family is so grateful to be part of Rhonda’s Guardian Program. When we first met the Maverick litter, we instantly fell in love—not with just one puppy, but with two. From the very first cuddles, we knew they had stolen our hearts. Viper was chosen to be a part of the Guardian Dog Program and we were unsure about how it worked and whether Viper would truly feel like she were “ours.” Rhonda’s warmth, patience, and reassurance made all the difference.

Hello, we are Shaun and Karen and are the very fortunate guardian parents of Manny. Manny is one of the few male doodles kept with a guardian family and we feel privileged to care for him and love him. We have always been dog owners, but can honestly say we have never had a more loving, affectionate dog then Manny.

Hazy Harper: Retired 2025

We are one of the fortunate families that have been chosen by Rhonda Palmer to be a Guardian family. We were unsure about proceeding in the beginning as we had only a few months before lost our Golden, but it is a choice we are so thankful we made.

Rhonda is an amazing dog breeder. She is so knowledgeable about all of her dogs and takes great care in deciding the best homes for her dogs. Having been at her home and seeing first hand what is available for her young pups I know that dogs going into families from Rhonda are loved, cared for and taught so much before they even leave her home. As a Guardian family, we often contacted Rhonda with questions we had about our young pup. Rhonda is always available to provide information about any questions I have. I am forever grateful we became a Guardian family to Harper through Scott and Rhonda and Zoe's Doodles.

Harper is a happy, healthy, hilarious, loyal and loving member of our household. She is a playful ball of energy who runs and plays like a graceful gazelle. Harper has boundless energy, enthusiasm, and a huge love of the outdoors. She keeps us active while we go hiking, snowshoeing or when we are just walking through our own neighborhood. Harper is loved by everyone she meets. She has an undying love for my family that we all feel to our souls. Harper loves other dogs and plays with them very well. She is a gift and has made our lives whole. I could not be more thankful to be her Mom and her guardian. Thank you Rhonda and Scott!

Hurricane Hazel: Retired in 2025

When Rhonda first approached me about being a Guardian home, I had no idea what this was or how it worked. Once the process was explained to me, I still needed some time to think about it. I already had a Golden Doodle from Zoe’s Doodles (Miss Ellie who was 9 years old at the time) and always knew I wanted another dog but wasn’t sure of the timing. I had just moved back to Kamloops and was not feeling quite settled yet. I also thought it might be better to wait until Miss Ellie was a bit older.

After many conversations and recognizing the benefits of being a Guardian home, I excitedly told Rhonda that I was all in. I was ready to open my heart and home to a dog and just prayed that Miss Ellie would be as excited as I was. And she was….eventually. Once the decision was made that I would be a Guardian home, Rhonda’s first question to me was “what kind of dog personality do you want?” My first response was “I want a dog just like Ruby Blues”. So, it only made sense that we would choose a puppy from Mabel and Fisher’s next litter (she would be a full-blooded sister to Ruby), which was born on December 18, 2019. A month later, Rhonda and I made the trip to Maple Ridge to check out the litter and hopefully find “the one”. We narrowed the choice down to two girls pretty quickly. After spending time with both puppies, the choice was very clear and on February 14th I welcomed my new puppy home.

I don’t think I can put into words how much I love my Hurricane Hazel and what a smart, fun, loving girl she is. She has the kindest soul of any dog I have ever met and we have encountered many people during our walks who have fallen in love with her instantly. She is caring and respectful to all animals, young and old. She even won over Miss Ellie and the two of them have become the best of friends. I feel that Hazel has awoken the playful side of Miss Ellie and has somehow reversed her age. Watching the two of them together melts my heart.

I cannot express how amazing Rhonda was in explaining everything to me. I asked a lot of questions and I know she repeated herself numerous times, but she was so patient and gave me the space to determine what a great opportunity this was to bring another amazing dog into our families. I would not hesitate one second to be a guardian home to another amazing Golden Doodle from Zoe’s Doodles Puppies.

Thin Izzy: Retired in 2025

My experience might be somewhat different than most as I went into my Guardianship role with many doubts. I was 73 years old on my own and had not had a pet since my son was 8 years old - he's now 50.. It has turned out to be the best experience for me at this time of my life. I could not have done it without the support and teachings of Rhonda - our Breeder. She has guided me throughout this journey.

Izzy is a healthy, fun loving puppy (she just turned 1) who has brought companionship, humour and a special kind of love to my life. We walk, we play, we have play dates and we visit our friends and family in Kamloops. There is never a dull moment in either of our lives. I cannot thank Rhonda enough for always being there for Izzy and me.

Cali Lily: Retired in 2024

I am honored and grateful to have been selected to be a guardian home for Cali. It’s a wonderful opportunity to have a health and temperament tested, top breeding quality Goldendoodle, become part of my heart and home. My Zoe’s Doodle Guardian family role has allowed me to see firsthand just what a fantastic breeder Rhonda is, lovingly caring for each and every Zoe’s Doodle puppy from birth … and beyond! Rhonda and Scott are wonderful to work with, and incredibly helpful with information, encouragement, and support. I feel so blessed to be a part of the Zoe’s Doodle Guardian Program!

Cali is my leap of faith, wish upon a star, and dream come true. I am loving life with my sweet girl and enjoy every moment of raising, loving and caring for her. Not only is she beautiful, joyful, and energetic, just to name a few, she has increased my opportunity to exercise, get outside, and socialize. I’m in awe of how many dog owners stop to talk to each other, but love hearing people ooh-and- aah over her striking red coat, or just how beautiful and sweet she is.

Cali is an off leash outdoor adventurer at heart, who never wanders out of sight. She loves spending time in nature and exploring the great outdoors. We hike, swim, kayak, camp, snowshoe and so much more. In a way, having a dog is an investment in your overall wellbeing. Cali also enjoys her time with my Mom, she has helped to combat the feelings of isolation and loneliness by just her mere presence and unconditional love. Cali brings a circle of love into our lives -she gives affection, we give it back, and all of us are the better for it.

Luna Lovegood: Retired in 2024

Miss Luna Lovegood will be having her third litter this summer and I have some travel plans that may happen during this time. It is such a relief to have Lou go and stay out at Rhonda's! It can be a bit of a doodle party at time with her pack but I know that Lou is in the best of hands! She will be stimulated and enjoy plenty of fresh air and exercise as well as some one on one quiet time.
